Homewood Care provides a nurturing and supportive environment with excellence in care at the core of everything we do. Care is different for everyone so we spend time getting to know you and what is right for you. We want you to feel safe and comfortable knowing you are getting the care that you deserve.
Homewood Care offers care for a range of care needs on a permanent, respite or day respite basis.
Homewood Care provides a nurturing and supportive environment, with excellence at the core of everything we do. You become family when you live at Homewood, and are treated with respect and dignity.
Homewood Care provides a range of quality, individualised high-level multidisciplinary care on a permanent or respite basis, including complex care, dementia care and End of Life care (palliation).
There are many different levels of care, so we spend time getting to know you to discover what is right for you. We want you to feel safe and comfortable, confident that you’ll receive the level of individualised care you need.
High care respite is provided where you are welcomed into the Homewood Care family for “respite-only” care (eg. if a carer needs a break or is admitted to hospital) or “respite with a view to permanent” care (NB: you need to already have ACAT approval for both these types of respite care).
Respite care can sometimes be scheduled in advance, depending on room availability. Timeframes can be negotiated, and are usually 2 weeks’ minimum for “respite-only” care and 2-3 weeks’ “respite with a view to permanent” care.
We collaborate with Dementia Services Australia to:
- provide safe, specialised care and activities
- provide care which is based on who the individual resident is, what is important to them and what they like to do
- maintain the resident’s skills and independence for as long as possible.
We work with Calvary Palliative Care to provide the most effective best-practice holistic and comfortable End of Life care. We provide safe, comfortable, individualised care that incorporates comfort care, music, aromatherapy and best-practice pain management techniques, according to the personal wishes of our residents and families.
Our clinical staff expertise is led by our Director of Nursing, Jill Allsopp (link to Jill’s profile), who has 16 years of palliative care experience and is a researcher in this field.
